Yes, I know, my praises are failing my fifty word limit idea. Bug off.
However, I would like to take this time to thank all the other
Mortals on Red Dragon. Now just because I did not give you your own
praise, please do not get upset. I have praised lots of people for
lots of reasons, but just because you do not get your own praise
does not mean I think any less of you....well maybe some of you.
*grin* However, you are what makes me come back every day. Even
though I am busy and should not be here. I come back because you all
make this mud worth it. Even the jerks. So I thank each of you, for
making this place one of a kind and for making it a joy to make
things for you.
To my fellow wizards. You are all great. You have all been there at
one time or another for me. Either to tell me to shut up when I
needed to be told, or to help me not kill the entire mud by having
the time to explain, even when you are busy. You make coding here a
blast and all of you do a wonderfull job.
So, to everyone, thanks and keep it up. And to anyone who sees all
the typos I know I made cause i am tired, yes I love you too!

Well first I rock cause well, I am a goddess. (I am humble too)
I also rock because I put up with much stuff. And yet I still love
all of you (even Apathy apparently) and try to make sure most of you
are happy. And I would say I do a very good job. Why else you ask?
Well because even though I may act immature and childish sometimes,
I try to always be fair. :P
What brought this silly, selfish, praise on you ask? Well, because I
never get praised. Well maybe once or twice.
Actually ignore all of that. I was just writing so you people had
something to read. I rock because you all allow me too. It's your
fault. :)

I see no reason to change the combo considering that my castle door
has not been unlocked since Zori moved out. I see no reason why I
could not leave all my safes set to 0 0 0 and still feel
comfortable. A castle with a door is impenetrable unless you 1-
give out keys or leave the door unlocked or open or 2- and I have
seen this, put a door and then make another room that you can use to
go around the door.

Zane would just leave piles of shit on the floor if it would save.

I would like to take this moment to praise all the wizards who have
devoted much of their time to coding, debugging, interacting, and
other various points of the MUD. While this MUD is only the second
longest that I have played, I have grown fond of it and come to like
it very much and I would like to show respect to the wizards who put
their time and effort into it to make it what it is today. Without
these wizards, this MUD would be nothing. Thank you wizards, for
giving me a fun place to come and play a great fantasy text-based
game while interacting with people from all over, I've had a great
time in my years here and I do hope that it will continue for years
to come. Again, praise to you wizards.

I just want to praise the powers that be in the Netherlands for
making voluntary lethal injection legal, with all the rules and
requirements that they deemed neccessary.
I'm sure some will disagree with me, but for anyone who has watched
someone in a living hell due to cancer, aids, CF, or any other
extremely painful and eventually fatal illness, or seen a love one
watch helplessly as someone they care about goes through it will
understand why this is an important step to true freedom of choice.
For once, a country has shown how humane we can all be, by letting
humans have the peace we give to suffering animals so quickly, but
have until now denied for ourselves. And they have also shown how
their government is truly allowing that freedom of choice. Maybe
other, more so-called "civilised" countries will follow thier lead.
Kudos to you, Netherlands.

Uh.. what kind of solo is that? :)
The dragon I got was an abandoned wounded kill I got with a
bunch of potions outside any events, but I didna hire
out a party to make a new solo kill. :)

I wanna praise/mention wagro for the time he death'd a blackavar elf after

Wasn't really a solo except by the fact he was the only one in the

would've killed him instantly if he failed.

Just want to send out some praise to the various people in my latest
xp party. There were quite a few who contributed, but these people
deserve a special note:

Fraziw : First and foremost, I'd like to thank the only person who
stayed with me throughout the whole party, not to mention healed me
well even though he lacks trigs. Kudos to you, Fraz.

Trigon : Secondly, I'd like to thank Trigon for being a cool blaster
with a wierd sense of humor to somewhat match my own, and for
partying with likkle old me. =)

Pug : Thirdly, I'd like to thank the newest of my trainees, Pug.
He's learning, but he watches and doesn't make the same mistake
twice. With just a little worth, this guy will rock. =)

Lu : Fourth, I'd like to thank Lu for staying for quite a while,
even if she now has a permanent imprint of her keyboard on her
forehead from constantly headbutting the keyboard. Someone whold buy
this girl a bed methinks. =j

Lastly, I'd like to thank the rest of you for your contributions,
and for helping this likkle woodsman tank 250k green dragons. =j you
guys rock =)

- Tranquil, the guy who has finally moved back into tanking xp.

Well, imagine, if you will, getting a foot of snow as a Christmas

This joke summarizes my whole take on this snow conversation

AUG. 12th
Moved to out new home in Pennsylvania. Is it so beautiful here.
The mountains are majestic. Can hardly wait to see them with snow
covering them. I LOVE IT HERE......

OCT. 14th
Pennsylvania is the most beautiful place on Earth. The leaves turned
all colors and shades of red and orange. Went for a ride through the
beautiful mountains and saw some deer. They are so graceful, certainly
they are the most wonderful animals on Earth. This must be a paradise.
I LOVE IT HERE......

NOV. 11th
Deer season will start soon. I can't imagine wanting to kill something
so gorgeous. Hope it will snow soon. I LOVE IT HERE......

DEC. 24th
MERRY CHRISTMAS, it snowed last night. Woke up to find everything
banketed with white. It looks like a postcard. I LOVE IT......

DEC. 30th
Woke up to find more snow. We went outside and cleaned the snow off
the steps and shoveled the driveway. We had a snowball fight (I WON),
and when the snow plow came by, we had to shovel the driveway again.
What a beautiful place. I LOVE PENNSYLVANIA...

JAN. 7th
More snow last night. I love it, the snow plow did his trick again
in the driveway. I love it here...

JAN. 12th
Snow again last night. Couldn't get out of the driveway to work.
I am exhausted from shoveling. Freaking snow plow.

JAN. 17th
More of that white shit fell last night. I've got blisters on my
hands from shoveling. I think the snow plow hides around the curve
and waits until I'm done shoveling the driveway. ASSHOLE.....

JAN. 20th
Well, more Friggen SNOW. If I ever get my hands on that son-of-a-bitch
who drives the snow plow, I swear I'll kill the bastard. Don't know why
they don't use more salt on the roads to melt the fucking snow and ice...

FEB. 8th
MORE WHITE SHIT.. Been inside for three days except for shoveling
out the driveway after that snow plow goes through every time. Can't
go anywhere, cars stuck in a mountain of white shit. The weathermen
says to expect another 6 inches of the shit again this week. Do you
know how shovels full of snow 6 inches is???

FEB. 11th
The FUCKING WEATHERMAN was wrong. We got 12 inches of that white shit
this time. At this rate, it won't melt before next summer. The snow
plow got stuck up the road and that BASTARD came to my door and asked
if he could borrrow my shovel. After I told him I had broken six shovels
already, I broke my last one over his fucking head.....

FEB. 20th
Finally got out of the house today. Went to the store to get food and
on the way a damned DEER ran out in front of my car and I HIT IT. Did
about $6,000.00 damage to the car. Those fucking beasts should be killed.
Wish the hunters had killed them all last NOVEMBER.....

MAR. 10th
Took the car to the garage in town, would you believe the thing is rusting
out from that damn salt they put all over the roads...

MAY 8th
MOVED TO FRIENDSWOOD... I can't inagine why anyone in their right mind
would ever live in that GOD-FORSAKEN state of PENNSYLVANIA.............

Thanks to Dram and Sigwald for their recent efforts on recoding the

the changing player base. I think the weaver guilds turned out very
well and have confidence that psychics will soon be revived back
into the mainstream of the mud also.

A big praise to Zifnab for his ongoing bug hunts and implenting new
features. I hope we see the new party object sometime soon :)

Also to the other wizards I see responding to bug reports and adding
new areas such as Nyx's christmas theme area.

It's wizards like these that earn our respect.

Let them be a shining example to those who think wizhood is about
running events to make lives of players more difficult.

There is almost none bigger eq monsie that doesnt have blocker or
some kind of quest to get to them.
Sear, tia, morgrath etc etc etc..there is lots of em. Cant see that
wizzed got lesser work to do now then befor.
And it prevents lots of stuff also....a fast reinc is just to forget
about. Explore get way much harder for newbies.
When your new its kinda simple to get lost and have no clue what to
do.Just type warp works but it is or "was" as easy to type "quit".

I would rather spend my time fixing the odd area that needs to be
fixed then spending my time doing reimbursements. And as far as it
more work to add set_reconnect_location(....) to a few rooms (which
by the way _many_ already have, that has been around for years).

It is _much_ more work to do the reimbursements, care to look at
my mail? We hope this will help with that problem. Crashes are
always going to be an unknown state, but this removes at least 3
places where crash recovery can go bad.

As to the reinc thing, I am sorry, it was _never_ meant for you guys
to run to place A and quit, etc, besides how hard is it to find
adv lodestones, just about the same result isnt it?

Blockers to eq monsters is almost a non-issue. You could
do the exact same thing in the past to a more limited
extent (link-death), and if you can't kill the blocker,
there isn't much chance you are going to kill the eq
monster.
Tell me one more time, how is warp harder than quit? Yeah,
you are right, its not.

How about this? Everyone knocks of the whines until they at least
try it? Nothing ticks me off more than people just assuming
something is bad without even trying it out.
And as for more work for wizards, well thats our perogative
isn't it? If it doesn't effect you what we decide to work on,
is it your business?

This will come as absolutely no surprise to most of you, and will
probably be exactly how the majority of the mud feels, but Athena
has got to be the best wiz/admin this mud has ever had. Often she
comes online for nothing more than a quick chat and to run a nosuck
for all of us little mortals, even when she has alot of irl stuff
happening that is much more important than anything here could be.
In addition to that, likely many mudders have spoken to Athena about
irl stuff of thiers that goes wrong and shes always there for
someone to talk to, someone to get advice from, and also for when we
need someone to just listen. I know I have done that many times, and
she has spent alot more time listening to things that's gone wrong
in my life than anyone should really have to.
Athy, you rule. I dont know where I or where this mud would be
without you, but one thing is for sure. This place would lose one
of, if not -the- best thing about it.
My hat goes off to you Athena.

I couldn't agree more. Athena knows more about the shit thats
happened in my life than a lot of my irl friends do.
She's so easy to talk to, and like tranq said, she's always there to listen.

I would like to praise all the wizzes for coding lots of cool stuff,
so they know its appreciated even though it seems everyone's
unwavering love can be easily be bought with 20 minutes of events :)
I like Athena and events as much as the next player but when I see
people post 8 messages in a couple minutes claiming she is the
best/most important/only wiz, I think people need to cool out a bit
and remember without any other wizzes around there would be no
events to run, no spells and no mobs to kill with them. Also big
praise to the new eq for tp's thing, it levels out the playing field
nicely and I haven't seen so many people unidle for awhile :)

(Ok, let's see if I can make this make more sense now I've had
some coffee :)

I have to agree with Kalon here. I enjoy the events Athena runs
as much as anyone else and agree that she is a very nice
person to talk to. I do not mean any disrespect to her by saying
this but logging in from time to time and running cool events
is NOT what keeps this mud available and stable for us. Running
a mud is hard work and praise should go to all the admins and wizzes
that have the less popular but infinitely more important tasks of
keeping this mud balanced and keeping us in line...

I'd like to praise the Wizzes of Red dragon for all the changes
that have been done in the last year or so. Some of which
I admittedly said "WTF?" about when I first heard about
them, but now all make sense.

The mud has gotten at least 50%->100% better in the last
18 months.. and it gets better by leaps and bounds every
month.

Remember.. not too long ago.. you had to mail real $$$
to get tps, you're equipment didn't save on your person,
animist (what the hell are they?)... Builders On RD?

All of these changes have been done.. not to mention
the restructuring of many of the guilds.. and the
other various long-term projects in the works.

Most of all, I'd like to praise those wizzes that started out
as players and saw something that was foobared and stepped to
the plate and did something about it... I wish I had your
vision or ambition.

Crystal dragons are fun as hell. :)
There's nice gold to be had and the lava burn wimpies
into rooms with all exits blocked are cool.
I got killed by one that shot me back through the female dragon's
room and got me killed, but was still neat.
(Started setting up 1-key walk commands to burn in a straight line
away from danger on wimpies
after that)

Anyway, the area is rough, but playable and cool now.

Nod, I agree. The area is cool. Those dragons put up stone flesh,
I think use resist pain, and other stuff that players actually have.
It's kinda like going up against a little higher AI or something.
Anyway, it's cool. Cept we couldn't find the eq dragon, and now I

Wanna praise fezzick and tigerwolf and even squee for good
tank support in my mini-eq party. Also wanna praise palenon
and rizzly and jimerson for the firepower
and rizzly for staying half an hour or an hour past when he had to get off. ;>

Also thanks to rydia and xphere for blasting a kill here and
there just to be nice or cause they were bored or something.

The whole party deserves praise for not giving it up when tigerwolf's
link was killing him and newbie members were being crushed
by every single area attack anything ever cast. *grin*

Thanks all,

I wanna add kaos to this list of pk'ers to be praised. ;>
He got me 3 seconds after selidan ressurected me to cs.
Lucky for me I ticked in that time, unlucky for me his first
blast was for more that 168 hps.

Also wanna praise lasher for livening up my parties a second
time this week. Nothing says fun like a mistmage
blasting the tank of an exp party. ;>

And fuge! Everyone on the mud must have had the pleasure
of blinding powder and poison bread last night. It was real fun
typing 'poke sidhe' to make sure there was a sidhe in the room
for my party to blast. Unfortunately I couldn't
eat the poison bread while blinded so I waited till later.

I want to second this, Aristide was incredible and I'm still sorry
he was dewizzed and ousted. He had a great imagination and was

Because I'm in Montreal and he's in Tornoto, logistics make it

which is our first together as a couple.
As a surprise (which isn't so much a surprise because he had to tell
me) however, he's taking the train to Montreal on Thursday night for
a post-Valentine romantic evening, and then on Friday we're going to
drive back to Toronto together for my reading week...which is more

searves to demonstrate why I'm marrying him.

The wizards are pissed when the players flame them, but then they
turn right back around and flame the players. I said absolutely
nothing damaging to anyone and was just trying to thank my friends

I'd like to add Rizzly could hardly idle getting new rooms
through the ruo gen army complex at least. For the
rest he had to run around himself while someone stayed put to be the

It's sounds like the set-up to a perverted joke. But anyway, I'd
like to praise Nyx for lending me her ear while she was doped up.
She helped get through a little bit of the rough stuff.

for helping me and wagro knockout some ogre guards to get the
last sphere shard we needed and not trying to ransom it for
500k. ;/

Also thanks Nyx for the complimentary nosucks to make
blob less annoying, raena and terse smoother kills. :)

Was an impressive start to my first tank reinc in months.

-pedron could still tap his party between and after nosucks. :)

Oh woops, thanks tomten and xphere too. Xphere was backup tank

*rofl* Yeah, I ransom'ed it alright. You offered the 500k. Not my
fault you can't find 'em when they're not hard to find.

And I praise the wizzes for disabling random and unknown lodestones.

I praise myself for blowing all those megs, level inflating, and
slipping past the 7600 mark _after_ the lodestones random/unknown
were disabled. :)

And I didn't offer 500k initially and initially you declared you
wouldn't sell. I also didn't name names in my last post for a reason,
just expressed gratitude for the selflessness of
those who spared a few minutes to knockout the blockerers. :)

Just wanted to drop a note to praise Waz's area.

I'm sure those that have been to his area know some of the things
that make it praise-worthy, but for those that don't:

1) The range of size of monsters is very good.
2) The monsters often use skills/spells that make sense given
their particular role.

3) Lot's of stuff to kill.

For those that haven't had the chance yet, I recommend it
highly.

Damnit, I can never word anything better than Jomo, so I'll just agree 100%.
Waz, loved the area (even tho I died a few times, and lost a level
