Well, after only a short time here, I really like this mud, and
I think it's probably the best anywhere, certainly the best I've found.
My top five favorite things I'd like to praise about RD...
1. the party system - very cool, very much a part of the mud, and it's a great
way to promote friendships and learn really cool things about the mud.
2. EVENTS - gotta love 'em. a little fun twist to your mudding day, they are
a way cool feature of this Mud.
3. Guilds - I LOVE the fact that you can have several sequential
guilds, joining
another one every time you get 10 levels. It allows for a very powerful,
fun to play character. And it provides motivation for gaining levels. :)
4. Healing - The tick/tock system is very nice, unlike other muds I've
played where healing has been done through drinking or something strange.
Also, the generous healers out there haiming rock!
5. The explore bonus - I am sure that taskpoints have pretty much always
been a point of contention with some, but it's still another neat tweak
to the normal playing environment, and the fact that you have to work for them
is cool, as well as promoting knowledge of the mud. If only I could
avoid those
nasty large aggros ;)
Anyway, last but not least has got to be everyone who plays here. Don't think
I've ever seen such a populated, active mud, with so many channels and such a
diverse bunch of people all having a good time.
Thanks to wizzes and players who have made this such a cool place. ;)

This is going to be a long thank you which is way over due.
First, I have to say how great Zifnab is. I have only been on the
mud for a few months, but in that time I have had some problems
because I was a big dork. Zifnab was incredible patient with me and
helped my fix the problems I had with my eq, poorly advised suicide
and a couple other things as well.
Zifnab has been civil with me even when I whined and bugged him even
though I am sure he had more important matters at hand :-) Besides
all that, I see how much time he (and of course, all the other
wizzes and gods) puts into the mud so that we can enjoy ourselves.
He deserves a great big round of applause.

Next on my list os Kazulanth. During my first couple months here
Kazulanth set me up with a room, a chest and someone who would
answer a question for me, no matter how simple, when I had one. Kaz
took time to help me when I lost my key numerous times :-P and when
bad things happened.
Kaz has quite a bit of patience, good humor and generosity. Thank
you for all your help Kazulanth!
Now for Energystar... Well, Energystar is like a big brother. He
has helped my with EQ, EXP etc.
He answers questions, gives advice and is a great guy to party with
and provides intelligent conversation :-) The time he has spent
helping me is much appreciated. Thanks Energystar.
As for the rest of you out there you all deserve props for
being so cool. Biggleworth is still civil to me even though I
pissed him off one time. Sorry. The rest of the players and wizzes
are great too, you guys make also this a great place for me to spend
time when I should be doing schoolwork :-P

I'd like to praise Cremator for having the good sense to vent his
anger and frustration someplace where it could do no damage. Yes, we
come here to "escape" real life, but real life can and does intrude
on our mudding time and vice versa. Unlike so many on here, he
actually loves his little sister and would do anything in the world
for her. And being overweight may not have a thing to do with how
fast a person can run. Coordination plays a big role. I was
overweight but beat the crap out of a few people in some races.

once and for all, I apologise for the short burst of news spam, but
for the previous weeks, I had an absolute shitload of things happen
in my personal life which precluded me being -able- to read the

The purpose behind the trading of free music is that there is
actually music out there that is copyrights to be mp3s. Now the idea

such as walking it and petting it, doesn't mean you're not going to
get sued if you let it run free and it mauls your neighbor's kid.

small band without millions and millions of $$$'s and their income
was endangered by this, then I'd understand...

It was more like 300k users, and they all have rejoined now
under new names. Due to the fact that it is illegal to link
personal information with accounts. And its already been noted
that you can't stop it now, napster is a non-profit org and
so you can't sue him (writer) for money. You can only force
him to stop writing it. But unfortunatly as was stated in
the court. Its already out there now, and will only be copyed
and distributed on newsgroups etc from then on, as napster
does not need any central server.
Mikul, who's never actually managed to get a full album
from napster, and so has bought them later on after listerning
to 50% of the album. CD's dont come with a 30days money
back option.

Excellent point Ant.
Metallica is just starting the trend to stop MP3 pirating.
They have all the money they could ever ask for.
But think of a new band, trying to get started.
They put out one CD, sell a few copies. then everyone uploads songs
from mp3-swap sites, and the band cant get off the ground, cuz ppl
are too dam cheap to buy the cd's.

As a matter of fact Napster gets advertisement money every time
someone uses their site. So in essence, every person that uses it
to download a Metallica song is making them money. So they are
profiting off of this. No one does much these days that doesn't
turn a buck.

My thanks go out to Sigwald for his efforts in developing and
implementing the Animist/Druid guild tree. It is quite a fun guild
to play, with varying things you can do, from controlling animals
and basic healing, through to pref damage gem blasting. And with a
staff and focus crystal to maintain, it is more challenging than
your average 'Oh I have some sps, maybe I'll blast something' guild.
He quickly incorporated other ideas from the guild testers and has
since fixed other unintended 'feature
Thanks also to Nyx for some work on the guild areas, they fit well
with the guild theme.

reinc to shake off the bug, but an anonymous wizard patched me some

I want to praise myself too since Nyx set the bad example first. :)
I want to praise myself for tanking stuff that could kill me in 3 rounds,
especially the time 2 dinos were upset at the same time, and the other
time when I was sustained by frantic clws and gaea's touch in the
absence of healer. I took 73 criticals and died only 1 time when
urquaan's familiar ponged me into a monster in a fun fluke
of common monster id. I'd also like to praise myself for my
inexpensive tanking services, roughly 4k gold for a whole day at ~10%
party share.
Yeah me, I rock.
Gonna thank all those rocking blasters for real too, they managed to kill
some of those crazy monsters before I could be killed by them.
Trigon, Cleo, Havok, Urquan, tektor left as soon as I joined so no need
count him I guess.. ..shiranai and wagro, paraqlitos, jaws, chalice, yeah
and atrus even though he attacked the wrong dino that one time- I'd
like to commend myself for
being steadfast and tanking both of those till they died- Urquan was a cool
addition, I don't much like that familiar that beat on me though. :)
Azagthot and Xphere, and I'm pretty sure I forgot someone there were
like 20 people throughout the day.
Thanks all for getting me half a million exp and not letting me die. ;>
Thanks for bearing with me when I ran around trying to map out more
rooms for explore too. *grin*

I wanted to say how much I appreciate the admin and wizzes on this
MUD. It's nice to have administarator who are dedicated to making
the mud a better place and pretty much maintain a sense of humor
about most things. I usually am impressed every time i log on and
see all the new bug fixes Zifnab or another admin member has made.
I also thinks the wizzes here are pretty cool too. Thanks for the
time you spend helping us, putting up with us and for running events
when it gets kinda boring around here.
Anyway thanks to both the admin and wizzes for spending their time
to make a fun place to get away from real life.
