Wizard Rules
The following are some rules for wizards. They are probably
obvious, but we just want to make sure everyone understands the
rules to avoid any problems =-)
- Do not affect ANY mortal in ANY way that affects the game. That
means, do not clone eq for players, give them exp, tps, gold. Do
not tell them information about things that they would not have
access to knowing (ie a monster's stats) or trans them around. If
there is a problem and you feel a player needs to be reimbursed
for a bug, ask an arch or admin to reimburse them. If you still
have your mortal eq, money or castle for some reason, do not
transfer this eq to a mortal.
- You need to get an area out in a timely fashion, usually within
the first month of becoming a wizard. If for some reason you need
more time, talk to an arch/admin
- Never give mortals any information on spells and skills,
guilds, areas, races, events, etc. If a mortal has
a question, direct them to an arch or admin and let them take care
of it. If no one is on, have them mail them.
- Never give your password to anyone. Do not let anyone use your
character for anything.
- Do not code any items (armour, weapons, etc) which are illegal
by in-game rules. Even if this eq is in your personal dir and is
only for you, it is considered illegal because there is a chance
you could mistakenly drop it in the game and a player could pick it
up.
- None of the code on Islands of Myth is ever to leave Islands of Myth.
That means that once you have coded something, it is the property
of Islands of Myth.
- You may NOT have any mortal characters except for a registered
test character. When you wiz, if you have secondary characters,
please have them removed or make sure you never log in with
them.
- Don't pester the players. Examples of this are: going invisible
and going to them and doing echos, changing their player
information, spamming them with emotes, talking to them when they
don't want to talk, etc. This list is not all inclusive. Just, use
your head.
- You are now a representative of the administration of this mud.
Keep this in mind when you interact with mortals. You may certainly
remain friends with players, but you are expected to be responsible
for what you say and do. Try to support the actions of the
administration and avoid complaining or questioning in public
(mortal-accessable) forums.
- Have fun! Code lots! =-) We will assume you have read these
rules. If you have any questions about the rules or your
responsibilites, please ask your mentor or any of the other
arches/admin. --Administration of Islands of Myth
