I bought this item last night, and after reading the item description, I thought I fully understood the risk versus reward mechanic. I read that it drains my hp and that it is capable of draining my hp below 0. I inferred that players had to be careful to overcome the mechanic by making sure I had enough hp_regen, healing spells, etc. to counter the life drain. I then proceeded to log off, and return this morning to find my character dead. But why?
