| Soooooooooo I've been getting these emails from the datacenter the mud server is hosted in. They're doing a planned outage in order to prevent a potential unplanned outage. They'll be replacing some power circuits and I frankly do not remember if the server has two power supplies. If it does we will see no downtime. They'll turn off one power circuit, the server will use the other, then switch back.
If it does not have two power supplies, the mud will be down for a bit. The scary thing here is that this server has been up for 2+ years with no interruption and is quite old at this point. I am only like 90% confident that it will come back up.
If this is the case there will be some extended downtime while we move to something new. There are daily backups and plenty of fun stuff so don't worry about that, just be prepared a bit :)
A Scheduled Maintenance is due to be performed as outlined below.
UPDATE: Third Notice

IMPACT ON CUSTOMERS: Critical / Priority 4 . We expect your servers will experience a loss of power during the repairs to the PDB (Power Distribution Board). If you are utilizing our A-side and B-side infrastructure as a primary / redundant configuration, you should see no disruption of service. If you are only fed from this board, or if you have devices with single power supplies connected to only this board, there will be a short outage on any equipment connected to this circuit. |
