for those of you who get a new body after this post, combat silent will, hopefully, have new code.



assuming i didn't break it, there should now be new options for combat silent. these options are essentially "combat silent generic other", "combat silent start use other", "combat silent finish use other", "combat silent words other", and "combat silent skill action other".



what these SHOULD do, assuming they work, is make it so that you can silence messages that only pertain to others, while leaving yours showing.



for example, combat silent generic other should make it so that your melee (and melee you are hit by) both show up as though you had done nothing at all. however, melee that is not affecting you (i.e. someone hitting another mob, or another mob hitting someone other than you) should be silenced. the end-of-the-round message about hits should not include your hits, or any hits you received.



let me know if it doesn't work.



by the way, if you have, for instance, combat silent generic on, and you turn combat silent generic other on, unless you turn combat silent generic off, it will continue behaving as though it were on (since it is). to use only the combat silent <blah> other, you need to turn off combat silent <blah>.
