I have frozen Esoteric for two months, and reinced at -25%, for harassment of Waxman.

To give people a bit of history here, Waxman froze himself to avoid doing something like this himself without a second opinion et al. He did, however, save a log of the conversation in question, which I've looked over.

To be clear: I am not doing this because Esoteric was being a pea-brained idiot (which he was), nor because he was rude and obnoxious (which he was) - these are not, as of the moment, against the rules.

What I am doing this for is a pattern (albeit in a single conversation in this case, but still quite clear and present) of nasty and repeated obnoxiousness towards a single target - in this case, not taking "no" for an answer, but repeatedly, rudely, and insultingly, but most importantly, repeatedly, bugging him again and again to the point that it was clear he wasn't going to stop until he got the answer he wanted.

For future reference, if you have a problem with something a wizard has done, you should talk to them first, as was done here. However, if you have good reason not to like their answer, and they don't wish to continue talking to you - seek a second opinion, don't keep bugging them. I will be ... well, happy is probably the wrong word, but you get the idea ... to talk about such issues. I will warn you, though, if your argument amounts in my eyes to, "but I want this", "but it would make me more powerful, and that's a good thing", or (as in this case), "his world view differs from mine, and I can't handle that", I will laugh at you. Similarly, if you have such a problem with me, see... well, I'm sure any wizard would be happy to let you air your grievances with me at them, if you do it civilly, or you can talk to Blanchefleur for really quick and good results.

I can't say I remember the last time someone was actually punished for harassment here - luckily, people seem (to me) to mostly stay on the correct side of this line - barely (though I do remember Zifnab threatening me with same when I was a newbie - Hi Denim! :-). It does not make me happy to have to do this. Please don't let it happen again.

p.s. Though this wasn't done _because_ Esoteric was being a pea-brained idiot, a pea-brained idiot he certainly was being. If you would like to avoid being a pea-brained idiot yourself, take Blanchefleur's soon-to-be-patented Mud Deportment Course - and listen closely - and make the mud a nicer, friendlier place.

p.p.s. Remember, wizards are a hard-working and very rare commodity here. Making them leave by being excessively mean to them is in no one's best interest. While this was not done because Waxman is a wizard - the conversation in question would have done in Esoteric, if brought to my attention, no matter who he had it with - the target does make the whole thing particularly ... unenlightened.
