Apparently there was a small issue with multiple bodies that I imagine very few people encountered; but basically if you had 2 bodies, and we'll say one is weaver and one is druid, it was possible through reincing, even seemingly safe reincing, to lose guild mastery/rank on one of the bodies. Basically the requirements would be something like:

1) You join weaver guild on body A.

2) You reinc body B from druid back to druid.

3) You reinc body B from druid to weaver.

The reasoning for doing something like that 3rd step would be to, in theory, make sure to keep one body weaver so that you could go to step 4:

4) You reinc body A from weaver to woodsman.

However, step 3 will lose you guild rank and mastery because as far as the mud can see, you have reinced twice since you last joined weaver. As of this moment, it does not matter that you are in weaver on another body, all that matters is that there have been 2 reincs since the last time weaver was joined.

To be honest, there is actually no reason to use this method, as the moment you reincarnate via rod or machine, the reincs for the guild you are in on the body you are in are set to 0. However, I don't expect anyone to remember this, and the other way makes a sort of convoluted logical sense that I think people are more likely to try, so I have fixed it so that you can do it that way as well. However, it will probably take a reboot to go into effect.

Sadly, the only person to bring this to my attention was Chemosh, and it was too late for me to reimburse him. Most likely it's too late for me to reimburse anyone who suddenly realizes that's what happened.

Hrm, actually, I realize why this works the way it does now. I'm leaving my change in because it is harmless, but I would point out that there is really no 100% safe way to switch a guild from one body to another. It may not cost you do it in some situations, but for instance it would be impossible to switch body A's guild to body B and body B's guild to body A without some loss unless you recombine.

Also, having just read the bit I said about no reason to use that method, actually the reincs being set to 0 would not really matter in this case because he wasn't reincing back into weaver on that body, which is what I was thinking about when i wrote that.

In conclusion: stay in drugs, quit using school, and don't try to switch two bodies around without using a recombine unless you don't care if something bad happens.
