| I believe Bard needs something extra or it seems as if nobody will be bard besides the ones that are already. I put a little thought in what may help get more players interested and/or help the bards be more active.
1. Make troubadour songs more powerful. a. Last longer and increase the song boosts. b. These songs are too short lived and not strong enough to warrent the use of troubadour. 2. Have an omnicron skill put in that determines if the mob is low enough level for an insta or not. 3. Have an omnicron song in troubadour that adds to the parties exp rate. a. 3-5% just like tale of achman or allegory of athol. b. Last for a short duration.
Just a few ideas.

| I have pondered this a lot and hashed many ideas around with both players and wizaerds since I've started playing bard. I've decided to put all my thoughts down in one place since Garraty went ahead and posted some ideas to try and get things going. Most of my ideas are well received by most players, not all. Most of my ideas have been shot down for many different reasons by most wizards. Also, as I finish cleaning this post up, I see Daneel has dome something to the guild already so this point may be obsolete, but here goes anyways:
First, I've enjoyed the hell out of bard the few times I'ved reinced in, and I haven't even begun to play around with knife throwing much. My bard experiences have been doing mostly eqp. With that said, I've thought they've needed just a little something more for awhile, like Garraty and others.
The first idea I've always had when I brainstorm has also been a party xp song as well. I have inquired many players' opinions and wizards' opinions and the general consensus is most players love it some say it doesn't make sense, and all the wizards I've talked to have shot it down.
Since I haven't done much knife throwing, and absolutely no heart throwing, I don't have a personal opinion on adding/changing anything on that end. My biggest concern with this aspect of the guild was semi fixed with the tweaking of magical knives not breaking as much, but completelty solved by the creation of the bandolier armor. The first thought I've come up with is not an addition, but removing target preference skill and just targeting the body part when u use the skill like 'use throw knife at heart'. Also, since I don't have much experience with knife throwing, my last idea is probably dumb but we could expand the targets possible. Full list of ideas so far is: feet-anti tracking/wandering, legs-reduced dodge/tumble/melee defense, groin-stun(hard to hit), hands-disarm, chest-phys dmg, heart-instakill, shoulder-reduced combat str, neck-bleed special, eyes-break concentration
In regards to troubadour, I seem to share a completely different view on this guild than almost eveyrone else. Before even playing bard for the first time, I knew I wanted to play it with eqp first and foremost and thus choose a caster race to get the most spr out of it. With that said, I don's seem to share the same problems others say is wrong with this guild. Psongs seem to last fine to me and I don't have much problems tapping with caster race and regen wishes. However, i havent paid attention to the power difference between an idividual song and a psong. I always put mine up first and refresh mine through psongs but i havent played since the change to protection refreshments. However with the singing ive done my bard char has hardly gained any mastery. In my opinion the songs need to do more mastery in general or, maybe the psongs need increased not sure on that.
Other ideas collected have been: -a song thats like song of destruction but for casters with a mini selineas blessing effect. this idea has been shot down as its been said blasters alreadsy get enough of a boost. -skillspeed -spellspeed
Anyways thats all for now.
/DM ( i doubt any of this will happen, buit its fun to hope)

| Regarding Daran and Garraty's suggestions together:
First off, the reason I am so against an xp song is as follows:
I love bard. It is my hands-down favorite guild on the mud. I always keep a character in it these days, and I always return to it, because it is the single most fun guild for me, bar none.
I believe the reason for this is because it is the best-themed guild on the mud. It is the easiest to role-play, and has the least things that force one to break out of character and meta-game.
My fondest memories on the mud involve singing for lu-eq and xp- both the listed bard skill songs, and extemporaneous songs about what we were doing at the time (Brave Sir Lu being an oft-recurring theme when he was tanking).
To me, and XP song is a meta-song. I don't see a good way to do it in character. And for this reason, I really, really hate the idea, with an unabiding passion.
That being said, I am trying to think of more in-character ideas for ways to improve this a bit. One thing I'm thinking about is expanding the efficacy of funeral march in one of a number of possible ways.
