| so i've heard only one really unamimous gripe amongst the bigger unravellers (other than the lack of omicron which doesn't count); which is that the guild lacks stun res.
thinking about it logically, it's very possible it's intended not to, but that puts harmer in an odd spot. at a certain point, without stun res you are pretty much doomed to be on the verge of death throughout the majority of your battles. now, it's possible that harmers are intended to either keep an abjurer in the party at all times or to make sure to never be tanking in parties at the levels in which the exp mobs required for a decent party rate will stun the daylights out of a player who lacks any stun res. however, it seems like harmer could, in almost every other way, do a decent in-guild duo or trio without a lot of toes being stepped on, and there are definitely many fighter aspects to the talakh guild. i have to wonder if the guild does not actually lack something in the form of stun res. it would obviously help any guild to have stun res, but i see it as being important enough to harmer that without it, the guild is weaker than it ought to be, in regards to the amount of options the guild has for fighting.
especially where the harmers have to stay in the room, and can no longer use, as mamoru put it, "guerilla tactics" like the old timers could; it seems like stun res is really something hard to do without.
i even figure that the spell could be either a shirija spell or a talakh spell (while talakh, being the fighter, seems like the natural choice, i tend to think that the dead do not stun easy, and shirija could teach something that passed along the attitude). |
