stun res! ARGH! | Fri Feb 12 16:03:45 2010 MST |
| While I understand that it has been said that harmer is not really intended to stand toe-to-toe with mobs, but is instead meant at upper levels to be more of a guerilla tactics type of guild, the fact is that the amount of experience requried to get to a point where you can efficiently kill things with the bravo blasts (which are the only ones that continue damaging when you have left the room) is either going to be obtained by being in another guild or being a VERY miserable harmer. The choices I have for soloing are to either kill things that are very small and killed without much effort or worry, or kill bigger things (currently I'm killing in the 50k range) which stun me over and over and over again. Berserk seems to give some stun res but frequently it is unnoticeable (I believe that to date it has prevented less than 10 stuns total, and I have been stunned MANY times since I started using it every fight). At the point where I will be getting to be able to start killing things with in-and-out tactics, I will have had to either sit where I am now where I am usually safe, or go up again in monster size which will probably end up with me needing to be revved a couple of times a day.
And I'm not really sure how reasonably well I could be expected to kill even bigger monsters even with in-out tactics, since each of the bravo blast spells is 4 rounds base, and I don't imagine it would be very useful to only cast 1 or 2 spells before I flee, assuming that I have not been stunned and killed before I was able to.
