It appears that after a wizard released info to players that
probably shouldn't have been released, the incessant whining of the
few has lead to shapeshifter being tuned.

Can the wizard who did the tuning at least sack up to the fact with
a news post? Thanks.

because things are tuned because of whining and not because it's out
of balance. if whining leads to a tune, it's usually because it's
how the wizard is alerted to a potential issue. we wizards are
actually capable of thinking for ourselves and not just making
changes to shut the whiners up. and i'm pretty sure if someone tuned
it and didn't mention it, there was probably a reason.

I changed dragons because:

(a) I had intended one number, and apparently typed in

another

(b) Abeo had put together some really useful logs of eq

damage that clearly showed problems that needed fixing.

The former was the more immediate issue. The latter causes

this tune to be more ongoing.

While alerted to the situation by some whining, the whining is

largely irrelevant. Players tend to have a comparative view of

guild tuning, and whine accordingly, whereas I try to work more

by absolute standards, ignoring other guilds (otherwise we get

rampant guild inflation).

No, not always. I usually prefer not to bias player's opinions

on intermediate tunes (you guys bias each other just fine without

my help :-) ).

When I'm done, barring some specific contra-indication, I post

publicly. Before then, rarely.

That being said, I did say post to the wizard didlog, to which

you have access :-)
