Skill - Batter Attack | Thu Feb 25 15:02:09 2010 MST |
| I'm wondering if this skill can be reviewed for a possibly adjusted. Currently it takes, on average, 5 rounds (usually six, sometimes less, hence average) with Low damage and the stunning aspect of it is quite ineffective. I know that very few shifters actually use the skill, and even those that do use it very rarely. When looking at offensive skills in other bravo guilds, this doesn't even come close in comparison. I know that there are many other benefits to the SS guild so please don't think I'm trying to complain about this guild. I'm just wondering if there is any chance the Using time could possibly be lowered on this skill and/or the damage and/or the chance of stun be possibly increased. If this skill time is lowered, I would naturally expect the EP usage to be upped. When comparing to Deathblow (an offensive Bravo skill) the skill time is 4 rounds with EP use well over 100. Just some food for thought. It seems like a fun skill and I hate seeing a fun skill very, very rarely used for reasons such as use time/effectiveness when it is already limited to be used in a select few forms. Q |

I don't remember if dragons get motion control, but if they do, start with batter first out of combat, could save you 1-3 rounds. As far as db being 4 rounds, yes, it is, it costs 250ish eps, and has the ability to insta (str, size dependant). But, a warrior would be getting beat down hard, compared to a dragon in those 4 rounds, so obviously his offensive will be higher then the defensive. Dragons are all around pretty good. I myself used batter, and was pretty bummed about how much it, for lack of a better word, sucked. I was told rank really does'nt do much for shifter. (And yes, this was by the creator of the guild). That being said, with 110% skills across the board, and over-the-top stats for my race at the time, i saw batter stun about 40% of the time. I could see the skill being lowered a round, but if thats the case, the dmg should be a little lower as well. The name of the skill, batter attack, is doing just that. A batter isn't expected to do much damage, but the stun should be increased atleast to 50/50, with maxxed masteries etc. |

Batter attack can be used in bear and tiger form as well, so the argument about fighters taking more damage than dragons is also moot. However, I'm very glad you mentioned the fact that batter attack is, in it's present state, a waste of time. The skill itself already does incredibly low damage when comparing to other bravo attack skills so lowering the damage, while certainly an option, would make an already poor skill even worse. What I was mainly getting at was either A) Lowering it's use time while increasing it's EP cost, B) Increasing it's stun chance and/or damage and leaving the eps and use time un-changed, or C) a mixture of all of the above. Just to re-itterate, I DO like the skill but rarely use it due to how slow and ineffective it really is. I love the guild and would love to see these higher level skills used more often. Q |
