Raising Money for Cancer Research | Tue Mar 31 16:21:34 2015 MST |
| Hi all, haven't been around much lately, but I just wanted to tell you all about a fundraiser I'm involved in.
Pelotonia is a grassroots bike event that raises money for various forms of cancer research at the James Cancer Center at Ohio State University. During the first six years of the event, it has raised over $82 million. Last year, my team raised just over $23,000 with 17 riders. This year, we're up to 40 riders and hope to raise $40,000!
I'll personally be riding 180 miles in the event, and my goal is to raise at least $1,000. Every penny of every donation goes directly to research. I've personally had the opportunity to speak to the director of the James and several other researches whose funds come Pelotonia and could not be more excited about the strides some of them are making in cancer treatment and early detection.
If you're interested in donating, you can visit my page at: pelotonia.org/bglorioso. Any amount is greatly appreciated. And feel free to share the link if you happen to be a part of other groups who may be interested.
Thanks a lot, it's been a pleasure seeing you all around over the last ~14 years.
