| trying to avoid using the telnet connection downloadable from the website, and when I try to use java I get the following message

i'm not incredibly computer savvy, so any help would be appreciated. thanks |

Off the top of my head it seems like there may be something (a
firewall? windows firewall?) that is stopping the java client from
being able to connect out to the mud server on port 3000
You may have to specifically allow the program to make the connection.
The java security settings on your computer may also be in play here
You may want to look into a client like portal, mudlet or any of the
others out there, if they're an optionf or you at all |
